| My name is Joseph Olujimi Kolawole Agbaje and I desire to be the Governor of Lagos State in 2007. I have been thinking about Lagos. I have in fact, thought and studied long and hard about Lagos and the issues facing it. No one who has lived in this State in recent times can be unaware of the increasing inefficiency of government and the decline into moral, physical and fiscal poverty. I know I am the man to make the difference in this State.
I was born in 1957 in Lagos to Late Chief Julius Kosebinu Agbaje (of Isale Eko and Ikorodu parentage) and Mrs Margaret Olabisi Agbaje (Nee Epega) and am a member of the Onilegbale Chieftaincy family of Isale-Eko, Lagos State. I am married to Biola, a lawyer and we have 3 children. I started school at Corona School, Apapa, where I was the head boy in my last year. My secondary school years were spent at St Gregory's College, Obalende and Federal School of Science (both in Lagos) from 1968 to 1974. While at Gregs, I played cricket for both the School and Lagos State. It was a well-rounded education and I enjoyed the best Lagos Island had to offer at the time. |

In September 1974 , I was admitted into the University of Ife(now Obafemi Awolowo University) to read Pharmacy and there I met my beloved wife. Upon graduation in 1978, I did my pharmacy internship at General Hospital, Lagos. My National youth service took me to Okrika, Rivers State where I worked in the NNPC clinic.
I am a seasoned pharmacist and entrepreneur, recognised at home and abroad, the founder and CEO of Jaykay Pharmacy Ltd, a leading pharmaceutical company in Nigeria. I am a member of the Pharmacists Council of Nigeria and sit on the boards of many reputable companies. This is an index of my winning attitude and entrepreneural spirit. I always have a fresh and workable approach and to issues.
I have displayed patriotism, humility, dilligence, dynamism and commitment for selfless service in my numerous appointments, especially as Secretary, Political Committee Member, and Treasurer of the Afenifere.
I am continually involved in inspiring, motivating and encouraging young people to build their own careers and future. I am a mentor of Fate Foundation and a Patron of the Pharmaceutical Association of Nigerian Students. I am privileged to be a merit award winner of the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (Lagos State Branch), Fellow of the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria, and Fellow of the West African Postgraduate College of Pharmacy.
The challenges facing our dear State demand focused, accountable and transparent leadership. These challenges need a completely new approach and solution. We certainly cannot afford continuity; Neither can we afford blind loyalty or leadership that has failed to make its mark in spite ample opportunities to do so.
I, Jimi Agbaje, am the man to deliver to you, a LAGOS STATE that WORKS.
I count on your vote.
