Juliet Abiola Oluyemisi Agbaje was born on 18th April, 1958 to Late Chief E.B. Bankole, Nigeria's first qualified Librarian and late Julia Ayodele Bankole, nee Idowu. Having lost her mother early, she was lovingly brought up by her father's second wife, Late Margaret Mosun Bankole (nee Okuwobi).
She was a foundation student of the University of Lagos Staff School and had her secondary education at Reagan Memorial Girls School, Yaba, St Annes School, Molete, Ibadan and St Teresa's College, Ibadan.
She graduated from the University of Ile-Ife in 1978 with an honours degree in Law. After being called to the Nigerian Bar in 1979, she was posted to Port Harcourt for her National Youth Service.
In 1980, she joined the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria as a Staff Solicitor and rose to the post of Manager, Legal before she left in 1991. In 1992 she moved to Mutual Trust Savings and Loans Limited (one of the first 10 private Primary Mortgage Institutions licensed by the Federal Government) as its pioneer Company Secretary/Legal Adviser. She held this position for 4 years. While there, she was instrumental to the setting up of the Mortgage Banking Association of Nigeria (MBAN), as well as designing the association's logo. She also co-wrote its constitution and served as its first secretary.
In 1996, she went into private business in the female retail-merchandising sector.
She is an active Council Member of the Nigeria Society for the Blind and a member of Zonta International, an international service club for Executive Women who seek to advance the status of women worldwide through advocacy and other programmes.
She met Jimi Agbaje as an undergraduate in University and they married in 1982. They have 3 children, John Olubunmi Kosebinu, Elizabeth Omolola and Olurotimi Michael.
Biola is a staunch Catholic, a loving wife and mother, an avid reader and lover of music of all genres.
