Our Streets are full of crime How can we fight this

In Nigeria, Lagos in particular, we need to fight crime and unjust terror unleashed on the citizenry. But we can only fight this when we have good governace.

How 2 Fight Crime in Lagos

If we want to fight crime in Lagos, we need the will power to do so. To effectively fight crime would mean that many people would have to leave Lagos. Leadership is about doing the right thing at the right time. It has no room for sentimentalities. If you have no place to lay your head you do not need to be in Lagos. Go to the markets and under-bridges at night and you would witness scores of miscreants milling around waiting to unleash terror on the hard-working, law abiding citizens taking their deserved rest. It is not about moralising, we can have shelters for the homeless and the inhabitants registered and monitored.

Another thing we can do is by disbanding police barracks and police made to live with the people they are policing. How can you gather intelligence when you are detached and isolated from the subject? Apart from all these, the Nigerian as individuals have become a bunch of proud people. With our GDP and Per Capita Income we live an unrealistic fake life. The average Nigerian lives above his means. We spend so much on consumption and lack the savings to invest. Europeans and indeed Americans do not spend as much as we do on designer clothes. A Nigerian would look down on you when you want to be your self and real. Not too many people would withstand the type of humiliation thrown up daily in work places, schools and even churches/mosques. Those with no strong moral values would succumb into dubious means in other to measure up. This is the real reason why crime in Lagos, nay Nigeria would not be easily eradicated. Finally, we must cultivate the culture of reporting crimes when we witness one. The authorities we report to must also acquit themselves of their nefarious duplicity.
God bless Nigeria!

The Man Jimi Agbaje

Jimi Agbaje is a leader in search of political platform to take Lagosians to the promised land of prosperity. Please sir, promise me you won't become a core politician when you get to Alausa. If you do, your leadership abilities will disappear and failed promises will become your nature, like any other politician.

I know we can bank on you.

What Lagos needs is not a poitician but a leader. What Lagos needs is not promises but real solutions to real problems. What Lagos needs is not a succession plan but a success plan. What Lagos needs is not rhetorics but action.

Fighting Crime

Fighting crime is very easy. All we need to do is provide employment, make more people employable by training them, provide electricity at least 20 hours a day, and make it difficult for people to enjoy wealth arising from questionable means.

Again there is need for personal transformation of the Nigerian. When we believe in doing the right things and doing things right, very few people will be attracted to crime. But if we celebrate and reward people because they have 'made it' at the expense of the well being of society, crime will remain attractive.
